Laser Medicine takes Quantum Leap forward with the Formation of

The Medical Aesthetic Practice Association – MAPA

Cherry Hill, NJ – February 14, 2009 – Frustrated with the lack of clinical support from the laser and product companies and tired of suboptimal results, unnecessary clinical variation and higher than necessary complication rates, the providers of cosmetic medical services have banded together to form The Medical Aesthetic Practice Association (MAPA).  “We are all connected now”, states Dr. Jeffrey E. MAPA currently has over 2000 members and is growing rapidly.  This grass roots effort seems to be catching on and gaining momentum.  “We have recently make a very important strategic alliance with MedicalSpaMD http://www.medicalspamd.com/mapa/ to provide our Information Exchange Platform,”  continued Dr. Epstein.  “With this robust information highway connecting us, we can share information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  It is convenient and it is practical”. 

“We hope to take Cosmetic Medicine to the next level with our group.  It is open to all Cosmetic Providers, from Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologist and Noncore Physicians to Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and  Aestheticians.  Everyone has something to contribute and something to learn.  This type of free flow of ideas, opinions, information and experiences is a resource that has not been available until now.   By tapping into this collective “brain-power” and our collective experience, we feel that innovation will occur much more rapidly and current methods will be significantly improved and perfected.  We hope the laser companies and product companies will join us and support us by contributing their opinions, their experiences and their knowledge.”

About MAPA 

MAPA was started in December 2008.  “The Clinical & Business Information Exchange Forum for Aesthetic Medical Practices”.  The Medical Aesthetic Practice Association’s purpose is to promote and facilitate information exchange among Medical Aesthetic Practices.  By sharing our ideas, experiences, opinions and insights, we can learn faster and benefit from each other’s successes and failures.  In order to facilitate the convenient and high volume exchange of advanced business and clinical information, MAPA provides Internet Based Platforms for Medical Aesthetic Practice Owners and their Clinical Staff.  MAPA hosts live discussions in their Chat Rooms on a regular basis to promote real-time discussion about important, topical issues. 

About Jeffrey E. Epstein, MD

Dr. Epstein the Founder and the Executive Director of MAPA.  He is the Medical Director of Cherry Hill Laser & Skin Care Center located in Cherry Hill NJ ( www.ChLaserMD.com).  His laser center has 14 Cosmetic Lasers and has performed over 40,000 procedures.  He is a clinical trainer for Allergan and is on the Editorial Advisory Board of Advance for HealthyAging Magazine.  He is on the Scientific Advisory Board of Feedom2, Inc, performs their clinical studies and has a Physician Training Center.  Dr. Epstein is a Platinum member of Allergan’s Physician Network.  He attended Swarthmore College and Rutgers Medical School.  He is a Board Certified Internist with over 20 years of Clinical Experience.  He has been doing Cosmetic Dermatology full time for over 4 years.
